Sliema council defends parking scheme

The residential parking scheme in Sliema is to be implemented following the approval of all proposed streets by the Malta Transport Authority, the Sliema Council said.

It said that after giving consideration to the requirements of residents, after having engaged professional services for technical studies and advice and following a consultation process, the authorities, including the ADT and the GRTU, gave their approval.

The scheme will give residents access to park in all roads within Sliema with no time restrictions.

Non residents would have the right to unrestricted parking in half of Sliema roads. There will be a 120 minutes maximum parking restriction on the remaining half. The restriction times for Sliema apply between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. from Monday to Sunday.

The Strand area has time limitations according to the signage in the area which have been in place for the past years.

The scheme would be implemented following the approval of all the streets in Sliema by ADT.

In the meantime, the council would address problems which could arise without altering the rights given to residents.

Britney has just launched a series of gifts on Facebook that can be purchased by her fans, or anyone who wants to give a Britney gift ironically, for $2 each. These ‘gifts’ are virtual, and are just graphics that you send to your friends so that they can display them on their profile pages.

Two and a Half Men

My favourite Tv show is a comedy called Two and a Malf Men, wich airs on the Warner Channel.

The tv show is starred by Charlie Sheen who takes the role of "Charlie" a rich man who likes to drink, smoke and most of all women.

There are many characters but the top three are Charlie as I mentioned, his brother Alan wich is a broke Quiropractor with many problems with his ex-wife, and his son Jake. This is a very funny character, wich is a boy who sees life in a very light manner, and has to deal with his uncle and father problems in a more mature way than we could imagine.

Mex - USA

As you probably all know, the national team of Mexico beated the US soccer team last wednesday 2-1.

The match took place in the Estadio Azteca, in Mexico City. This victory was very important for Mexico as it allowed 3 more points to the team, also it was important because winning makes the players more confident, because this will be desicive in the next matches.

Mexico has to win all its home matches and hopefully obtain any point as a visitor to gain a place in South Africas 2010 world cup.

Twitter

Tweets are posts of up to 140 characters displayed and delivered to the author's subscribers who are known as followers. Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends or, by default, allow open access. Users can send and receive tweets via the Twitter website or SMS.

Today is one of the most visited pages and used services, becoming more popular every day, allowing people to comunicate what they are doing at the moment.

German Shepherd

The German Shepherd Dog is a breed of large-sized dog that originated in Germany. German Shepherds are a relatively new breed of dog , whose origins date to 1899.

As part of the Herding group, the German Shepherd is a working dog developed originally for herding sheep. Because of their strength, intelligence and abilities in obedience training they are often employed in police and military roles, in forces around the world.

Due to their loyal and protective nature the German Shepherd is one of the most registered of breeds.

Goethe's Faust

The story concerns the fate of Faust in his quest for the true essence of life . Frustrated with learning and the limits to his knowledge and power, he attracts the attention of the Devil who agrees to serve Faust until the moment he attains the zenith of human happiness, at which point Mephistopheles may take his soul . Faust is pleased with the deal, as he believes the moment will never come.
In the first part, Mephistopheles leads Faust through experiences that culminate in a lustful and destructive relationship with an innocent and nubile woman named Gretchen. Gretchen and her family are destroyed by Mephistopheles' deceptions and Faust's desires and actions. The story ends in tragedy as Gretchen is saved and Faust is left in shame.
The second part begins with the spirits of the earth forgiving Faust (and the rest of mankind) and progresses into rich allegorical poetry. Faust and his devil pass through the world of politics and the world of the classical gods, and meet with Helen (the personification of beauty). Finally, having succeeded in taming the very forces of war and nature Faust experiences a single moment of happiness.
The devil Mephistopheles, trying to grab Faust's soul when he dies, is frustrated as the Lord intervenes—recognizing the value of Faust's unending striving.
